April 7, 2009

Well I just spent all afternoon adding tutorials to our forum and adding a new tutorial reference page so our members can easily find ALL the tutorials and resource lists on our forum in the one place. If your not a member of our forum your missing out I tell you lol ๐Ÿ˜‰ Well jokes aside… you kind of are as there is WAY more freebies and help there then you will even find on our blog… not to mention REALLY great members who are helpful and just great great people to talk to!! (if anyone is interested at the end of this plog post is a FULL list of tutorials and resources we have in our forum ๐Ÿ˜‰ )

One of the things I love about the members is they are just so easy to talk to. And the fact that we are all learning digiscrapping from all levels is fantastic… even though some are really newbies to it all no one ever feels out of place or silly asking questions… ๐Ÿ™‚ *sigh* ok enough gushing about our members lol LOVE YOU GUYS!!

OH we currently have a challenge going where we are learning how to use templates for digiscrapping if anyone is interested? We are going to have an ongoing “technique” challenge with no deadline added infrequently from now on. This will help us learn different techniques used if digiscrapping and general photo editing starting at the basics up. Who knows we might all be pros by the end of the year lol.

OK OK enough of all that… where the good stuff your yelling at me?? right?? lol :p The “are they” part of the post title means i got carried away as usual; and we ended up with alot more then just templates in this post lol ๐Ÿ˜€

Color Variations in Photoshop CS3
January 13, 2009

First let me start off this post by saying, I am no way in any way, shape, form…whatever…a Photoshop pro.ย  I’m not even advanced.ย  I am…a N00B, noobie, newbie…however you want to spell it…I am a beginner.ย  And as such, I make it a ritual to search out usual tutorials on “How To” do this, that and whatever in Photoshop.

So, I’ve been fuddling along with my shiny new toy called CS3.ย  I can do a lot of the basics now.ย  Some with a degree of professionalism (OK…does opening and saving count?!?).ย  But I had been wondering, “How does one change the color of a graphic to get it to ‘fit’ with the kit one wants to work with?”

AND Ladies here is a quick tutorial found by Kel (Odyssey)

My First Digital Scrapbook Page Using Photoshop

Scrapbooking with your computer has a lot of benefits. One of the programs that digital scrapbookers use is Photoshop or Photoshop Elements. Here we’ll show you how to create your first layout using PS/PSE.

Open up Photoshop (PS from now on). Click on FILE>NEW and type in the size that you want your layout to be. Make sure you choose โ€œinchesโ€ from the dropdown menu. For this layout, type in โ€œ12โ€ for the width and โ€œ12โ€ for the height. Set the RESOLUTION to 300dpi. Color mode should be RGB. If you want to save this preset, click on SAVE PRESET and give it a name. Next time you start a new document you wonโ€™t have to change any of the numbers-just choose the saved preset and you will be ready to go!

8. Have the 3-dimensional look, feel and texture without the bulk.

Getting your digital images perfectly sharp is something that most photographers want – however clean, crisp, sharp images can be difficult to achieve.

Maybe before we start exploring how to improve sharpness it would be good to look at the main causes for lack of sharpness:
